Mitchell’s Plain police are investigating a case of child abandonment in Tafelsig.

A resident found the baby boy in her driveway on Sunday afternoon.

She says moments before the child was reportedly abandoned, a young woman, who was holding a baby, had asked for water. The child was found under a red baby bag, wrapped in newspaper and a plastic bag.

He has since been placed in a safe home while the police conduct their investigations.
