Despite political parties and civil society organisations winning their high court bid to have essential services exempted from load shedding, it will be a near impossible task to achieve. 

The bid comes as health facilities have long been calling for state support to help protect patients and staff from power cuts.

But energy expert Adil Nchabeleng, notes that its far too complicated to achieve this goal.

He explains that schools and hospitals are part of communities and will naturally be impacted.

He was speaking as President Cyril Ramaphosa is due before the National Assembly this week to answer questions on the state of the country’s electricity crisis.

South Africa is enduring Stage 6 load shedding, but some energy analysts say that the country is actually dealing with Stages 7 and 8.

The president will also answer questions on the appointment of Kgosientsho Ramokgopa as the electricity minister.
