Palestinians have upheld Islamic traditions and religious rites at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound this Ramadaan despite ongoing threats from the Zionist regime and attempts to prevent worshippers access to the holy site.
Tensions remain at the compound as Zionist illegal settlers seek to carry out ritual sacrifices at the Holy Sanctuary. On Saturday Israeli occupation forces killed 26-year old Mohammad Khaled al-Osaibi, a Palestinian man at the entrance of the al-Aqsa mosque.
Statistics released for March by the Wadi Hilweh Information Centre indicate that 230 Jerusalemites were arrested and 70 issued deportation orders from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem. The arrests include three children under 12 years of age, 58 boys and eight women.
According to the report, the Israeli occupation authorities arrested more than 80 Palestinians from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem including the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.
