Qatar is expecting an influx of 1.2 million visitors for the world’s biggest football event later this month, which will pressure its infrastructure, hospitality and security sectors.
It’s also spent about $229bn to build highways, seven football stadiums, hotels, skyscrapers, and infrastructure to host the World Cup in 2022.
So as the first Arab nation to host a soccer world cup enters the final stretch, can it overcome the negative publicity its garnered?
