Parliament is expected to scrutinise President Cyril Ramaphosa’s action plan on the recommendations made from the state capture commission report.
The president was given four months within which to present his implementation plan.
Parliament’s presiding officers including the Speaker and the chairperson of the national council of provinces received President Ramaphosa’s response into the recommendations last night.
They’ve already noted that there must be a better implementation of oversight, including “adequate funding for Portfolio Committees; the need for a Parliamentary mechanism to track and monitor executive action; enhancing Parliament’s role in key appointment processes; and developing specialized Committees to deal with issues that cut across Departments and Ministries, amongst others.”
**The president is expected to update the public this evening at 19h30 on this plan. Tune in on 100.4fm for the details, or watch it on our social media platforms.
