Banyana Banyana have been crowned the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations winners, beating Morocco 2 – 1 for the title.

After attempting six times for the title, they bagged it at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium last night.

Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa congratulated the women’s national team, saying their victory was a demonstration of the great strides taken by the women’s game on the continent.

The team will return home on Tuesday morning.
