According to Eskom, while Unit 2 at its Kusile power plant has returned to service it will take time before it can generate electricity at full capacity.

The unit produces 700MW.

Due to breakdowns over 17 000MW is not available.

At least two units each at Eskom’s 10 power stations have been taken off the grid.
