Are children more at risk of developing cancer than in previous years? According to the South African National Cancer Registry, leukaemia remains the most common cancer among children, with those younger than five-years-old being at greater risk. In 2018, almost 1 000 children under the age of 14 were diagnosed with cancer. Almost half the cases that were diagnosed were children between infancy and four-years-old.
