A young man has been killed and two others wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting in Lansdowne.

According to Lansdowne police the three were shot in their vehicle on the corner of Jan Smuts Drive and Turfhall Road on Thursday night. A year old baby was shot in the leg while a 25-year-old woman was shot twice. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

The suspects are said to have been driving a red Corsa.

Police say 20 bullet cartridges were apparently found on the scene.

Cases of murder and attempted murder are being investigated.
