Ukrainian officials and Western media outlets have claimed that Russian forces left a trail of corpses upon their exit of the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has since demanded that Russia be held accountable and booted from the UN Security Council.

But Moscow has questioned the reliability of the purported videos and images being circulated as well as the timeline of events.

It has said that a fake attack was staged to undermine Moscow.

Speaking at the UN Security Council Russia’s Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia warned Kiev that the Western military alliance NATO countries don’t care about Ukraine.

He further noted that Ukraine is simply a pawn in the geo-political game against Russia and that Western states will try to prolong the conflict by delivering more armaments.
