A foetus has been found dumped in an open field in Blikkiesdorp in Delft.
Police say a case of concealment of birth is being investigated.
The Western Cape Social Development MEC Sharna Fernandez has appealed to expectant mothers who are unable to take care of their babies to seek assistance either at any clinic, or organisation so that they can speak to a social worker to find a potential solution to their circumstance.
