The Moroccan government is holding a funeral service for five-year-old Rayan who died after being trapped in a well for nearly a week.

The well was 32 meters deep.

Hundreds of people gathered at the well in a bid to rescue little Rayan along with rescue teams who sent food, water, and oxygen to him in their rescue attempts.

The funeral is taking place in the northern Rif mountains village where the tragedy occurred.

His father was fixing the well at the time Rayan fell in. Yesterday, rescue teams managed to pull him out safely. However, he passed away shortly thereafter.
