The power of the ocean has been demonstrated as a shipwreck dating back to the 1970’s washed ashore near Oudekraal, Cape Town.

Powerful waves lifted the Antipolis wreck from the waters at 12 Apostles.

For decades, the oil tanker wreck could be seen just  hitting the surface of the waters. But a yellow, level 2 warning  issued earlier this week for rough seas, has shown the sheer power of the currents at the Cape of Storms.

Authorities have warned those who visit or come across the site not to climb on the wreck or try to access its interior.
