Two men have been killed in a shooting in Silvertown in Athlone.

Police say the men in their twenties and a friend were sitting at a residence in Olympic Crescent when a white vehicle pulled up and gunmen opened fire on them.

No arrests have yet been made.

The motive for last night’s attack is still unclear at this stage.
