Majority of the Western Cape’s schools are set to continue with rotational learning for the 2022 academic year.
The provincial Education Department says this is because there has been no change to the Covid-19 one metre social distancing rule. It says that this will place a lot of pressure on both teachers and parents.
There was hope that more learners would return to the class everyday as rotational or online learning has proven challenging with some children dropping out. It is the third year that learners have had to go this route.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has indicated that they are consulting the Cooperative Governance Department to reduce the social distancing requirement so that more children can attend school.
