An Indian teenager has been arrested for allegedly beheading his pregnant sister.

The incident took place in Aurangabad District. It’s understood that that the 19-year-old woman had married without her family’s consent. As she was preparing tea for her brother and mother, the minor attacked her with a sickle.

It is suspected the boy took a selfie with the woman’s head. Both mother and son handed themselves over to the police.

The brother was sent to a remand home for juveniles. Hundreds of people are killed each year in India for marrying against their family’s wishes. These murders are called ‘honour killings’.
