The Pakistani city of Lahore has been declared the world’s most polluted city.
According to IQAir, a Swiss technology company, Lahore’s air quality ranking stood at 348 – this is well above the hazardous level of 300.
In recent years, air pollution has worsened in Pakistan due to a combination of low-grade diesel fumes, smoke from season crop burn off, and colder winter temperatures seeing an increase in citizens making fire to keep warm.
Residents have pleaded with authorities to come up with solutions to these problems because children have started developing breathing diseases.
