The recount of municipal election votes in 14 voting districts in the Cape Metro has yielded the same results.
IEC Western Cape spokesperson, Trevor Davids made the announcement after a complaint was lodged by the Cape Independence Party.
But the seat allocations in the City Council remains the same.
The party says it will now head to the Electoral Court for relief, with its leader, Jack Miller claiming that the CIP had a net gain of 552 votes after the recount, which was more than they had expected.
He says that a full investigation is needed due to what they claim is widespread vote mis-allocation.
The November 1 polls were mired in controversy, as parties claimed vote rigging amongst other irregularities.
