The Al-Jamaah Party’s leader, Ganief Hendricks says that the IEC in the Western Cape has harmed the country’s electoral democracy.

He was speaking as the party is considering joining others in calling for a re-election in the Western Cape.

Hendricks says that the Al-Jamaah has good reason to believe that the polls were not free and fair in this province.

He says that they have completed the necessary procedures to apply for a re-run of the polls.

While it’s unclear if the Cape Coloured Congress will join the call for a re-run of the polls, they have also noted problems in the electoral process in the Western Cape.

Meanwhile, the National Freedom Party is considering heading to the courts to ask for a postponement of the election outcomes.

It says that the IEC has been reluctant to agree to a recount of the votes in KwaZulu-Natal.

The NFP claims that it had won seven wards in the eDumbe municipality, but the IEC says that it had won six.
