The public has noted that South Africa has endured load shedding for more than a decade, which casts further shadows over the country’s ability to address the energy crisis.

Radio 786 listeners have reacted with outrage as the country has been plunged into Stage 4 load shedding until Friday 5am.

However, Cape Town residents that receive their electricity from the municipality should observe the Stage 2 schedule until 10pm today.

The past few days of Stage 2 load shedding has strained Eskom’s resources forcing it to implement Stage 4 black outs.

Mantshantsha, says that Koeberg power station is operating fully, and that they’re working to address the problem at its other facilities.

Over the past day, a unit each at Medupi, Kusile and Matla power stations tripped while a unit each at Lethabo and Arnot power stations were forced to shut down.
