Afghan authorities have been urged to step up security at mosques and protect worshippers following another deadly terrorist attack in which 47 people were massacred while praying. More than seventy were also injured in bomb blast during Friday prayers.

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has denounced the attack.

It has stressed that places of worship must not be left as an easy target to be preyed upon by what it calls human wolves who have been left behind by America to sow havoc and destruction in Afghanistan in order to avenge the failures of their occupation.

Hezbollah adds that Afghan Muslim authorities also have the tough responsibility to ensure that the murderers are arrested and that they are inflicted with a just punishment.

A terrorist group calling itself the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) has claimed responsibility for the Kandahar mosque massacre. It was the second deadly assault on an Afghan mosque in a space of a week.
