Almost three decades into democracy, the University of Johannesburg hopes to assess how South Africans view the concept of democracy in relation to their lived experiences.
Since the advent of democracy, people of colour have had more say and freedom in what they are able to do, and where they are able to go.
However, while a portion of the population believes that democracy has indeed changed their way of life compared to the oppressive Apartheid regime, those living under trying conditions where their basic rights are not fullfilled are singing a different tune.
