The Israeli occupation regime has blatantly desecrated one of the oldest Muslim cemeteries near Al-Aqsa mosque.
It’s reported that several graves at the Al-Yusufiye Cemetery were destroyed in the attack led by the so-called Jerusalem Municipality who wants to build a park nearby.
Palestinians say they found bones following the destruction.
Ahmed al-Dajani, executive director for the Commission for the Protection of Muslim Graves says the graves destroyed were those of Muslims martyred between 1948 and 1967.
The Israeli aggression is part of the Zionist entity’s ongoing attempt to strip Al Quds of its Palestinian identity. But Palestinians have been steadfast in confronting this campaign. They prevented the destruction of a historic staircase that led to the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
