Polarization and nationalism tropes in parts of South Africa are becoming more apparent through political party posters and campaigns.
Political commentator, Andrew Ihsaan Gasnolar says that these are failing to appeal to the diversity in South Africa.
Gasnolar was speaking as political parties are gearing up for local government elections, but the knocks that the DA and ANC have sustained in the lead up to the polls may prove to their detriment.
It’s suspected that smaller parties will be able to take advantage of this situation.
Gasnolar notes that political parties are already struggling to attract a shrinking voting pool.
