Najla Bouden is Tunisia’s first ever female Prime Minister designate.
President Kais Saied has already tasked her with forming a government.
This comes two months after he had caused public outcry by assuming wide-ranging powers in the country, which included taking over the judiciary.
He also fired Hichem Mechichi’s cabinet.
Saied has also instituted legislation, allowing him to rule by decree, which has caused further public anger.
But he maintains that the new government must put an end to the corruption and chaos that have spread throughout many state institutions.
