President Cyril Ramaphosa had considered resigning as ex-President Jacob Zuma’s deputy when State Capture first emerged.
The president made the revelation during his testimony at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry today. He testified in his capacity as President of South Africa, and former Deputy President.
Ramaphosa explains that while he would have earned a lot of praise from many quarters, the action of resigning would have significantly impaired his ability to contribute to the end of state capture.
