Despite some aid being allowed into Gaza, the Israelis are preventing medical efforts to rescue the wounded from demolished homes and buildings. This as they continue with their direct targeting of ambulances and the destruction of roads leading to hospitals. In numbers, this translates to:
- 23 ambulances being deliberately targeted, taking them out of commission,
- 44 medical personnel murdered, and 70 others injured due to the Israeli attacks.
- 19 health facilities directly or indirectly targeted, forcing work to stop in 14 health centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health’s primary care system in the Gaza Strip. All health facilities are at risk of complete stoppage due to power outages and the severe shortage of fuel.
- Hospitals in the Gaza Strip are struggling with severe bed overcapacity of 150% and more, with patients lying on the ground or ward corridors.
