President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for the immediate and unconditional opening of humanitarian corridors as the Israeli occupation forces continue with their deadly bombardment and total siege on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement the president expressed grave concern about what her terms the devastating escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the atrocities committed against civilian populations.

He called for the immediate cessation of violence and the exercising of restraint.

President Ramaphosa further urged the international community to fast track efforts for lasting and durable peace that produces a viable Palestinian State.

Pretoria still believes a two-state solution is a viable option. But others believe that option is dead.
