A Western Cape drug trafficker has been sentenced to an effective five years behind bars.
The 32-year-old Typhenne Ewyne Jantjies was found with at least 32 000 mandrax tablets worth some R900 000.
In October 2016 the Tactical Response Team in Khayelitsha acting on information nabbed Jantjies following a high-speed chase. He was charged with dealing in drugs.
According to the Hawks Jantjies has been declared unfit to possess a firearm.
He is the nephew of well-known gangster William “Red” Stevens who was killed last year.
