A 38-year-old man was murdered in Gatesville Square on Saturday.

Athlone SAPS responded to a complaint at around 18h45. Upon arrival, officers found the deceased’s body with gunshot wounds to both his legs.

Spokesperson for SAPS in the Western Cape, Lieutanent-Colonel Malcolm Pojie said that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Circumstances that led to the murder are under investigation. No arrests have yet been made.
