The woman murdered in Woodstock last night has been identified as 30-year-old Imaan Syms. 

Woodstock police responded to a complaint of a shooting on Monday night and found Imaan on the ground in Sussex Street. 

Eyewitnesses claim that she was shot 17 times. However, the police could not confirm the number.

It’s alleged that an unknown suspect approached Imaan, shot her, and then fled the scene. 

Imaan was the daughter of Ziyaad Williams. He is a prominent figure in the Minstrel Fraternity, and the team owner of the D Six Hanover Minstrels. 

This brazen shooting once again highlights the concern of gun violence in Cape Town.
