Two elderly women have been killed and three others wounded in an attack in Lansport Road in Hanover Park.

According to police a grey VW Polo stopped in front of a house on Tuesday night. A gunman got out of the vehicle and went into the home, shooting the five women.

The deceased are aged 75 and 60.

The motive for the mass shooting is still unclear at this stage.

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says no arrests have yet been made. Cases of murder and attempted murder are being investigated.
