A ten-man investigating team will be deployed to probe allegations of racism, and the more than 20 deaths in Phoenix, north of Durban.

Addressing the media in Phoenix yesterday, Police Minister Bheki Cele appealed to members of the community to help police bring the perpetrators to justice. In his previous visit, Cele emphasized the need for preventative measures to be put in place to curb any further unrest and damage to property following the spate of looting the province has experienced.

Durban and surrounding communities have expressed their anger at the spate of killings over the last few days. Minister Cele adds that SAPS is not going to stop trying to correct the situation by finding the perpetrators.
